Does anyone have any helpful tips to get past the dreaded Weight loss Plateau.
I have had people tell me...
Take a day/week off Have a big blow out one night on takeaways Change your exercise routine around Don't exercise for a day or two Drink more water Eat more/less
Who knows what to believe!
I have opted to have a week off serious dieting and just eat sensibly and go back onto Joannes wk1 next week. Keep up the walking/stepper/situps etc (as I am really enjoying this) and try to drink more water.
Any other ideas out there??? HELP!!!
Cheers ;D

Hi Clary, I think a plateau is a signal that your body is used to what you are doing and is balancing itself out. I found personally that by not exercising for a few days and having one 'cheat' meal a week keeps the weight loss moving. Otherwise try a different form of exercise, if you usually do cardio incorporate some light weight training with lots of reps - this REALLY works. Good luck and stay strong, we can do this!!

when I had my own weight loss plateau, I just upped my exercise by doing weights twice a week when I normally dont. I also ate normally once a week, but realised I had to stop that because it was sabotaging my diet.. I ended up eating far too more than normal! So it is fine to eat normally... but just make sure it's not more than normal

Thanks for the advice guys. I have had a few days off exercise (since Friday) and also had a couple meals out etc, so am back into it this week.
I have started running and will do my 'bean exercises' etc in the evenings, might even do a 5min walk/5min weights rotation to mix it up a bit.
Will let you know how this goes.
We are away this long weekend with friends, so I will have to be on my best behaviour (eating wise, can't promise the same drinking wise!!!! Hee hee) Plus the house we have rented is right next to a reserve so will try and fit in some exercise too! Off to Hanmer Springs, so lots of swimming and running around after kids!
