Hello everyone, my name is Nicola and I started the diet yesterday. I am hoping that I can stick with this diet and get back down to a healthier weight. Yesterday when I weighed myself I was 78kg. I have been feeling really unhealthy that I hope I can stick to this and get down to around 65kg.
I found the first day very good. The food was really yummy and I didn't feel deprived of anything which is good :). I managed to get out and do a fast 30 minute walk too and I felt really good after wards. It is nice to be able to get outside while we are having such good weather.
Today is going well too. I have been a little bit hungrier today, but I can handle that. I am just trying to tell myself to take it a week at a time and my first goal is to get through this week. I am sure that if I can get through the first few days, that I'll get used to having less food and I'll make it to the end of the week - and other weeks after that. I am really looking forward to weighing myself on Saturday morning and seeing how I am doing. Hopefully it is a difference that I can see to give me more motivation to carry on.
I also managed to get out and go for a 40 minute walk along the beach today. The weather has been amazing so hopefully we continue to have good weather for the week so I can get out and carry on walking. Otherwise, I'll do some zumba or other fitness inside to do my exercise.
Good luck to everyone else who is trying to become healthier and lighter. I'm sure we'll be able to get there. :D

Hello everyone. It is day 3 for me today. I have managed so far to stick on the eating plan. I have been really hungry today and have been sitting at work trying to ignore my growling stomach! How embarrassing!! Hopefully I'll get over the hunger soon I have just got back from my daily walk and am about to get tea on. Tonight is chicken soup and it is yummy so am looking forward to it. I haven't yet weighed myself, but am tempted to to see how I am going... I have a bbq to go to this weekend so am a little bit nervous about what food there will be to eat. I think that I'll take some food with me that won't be too far from the diet for dinner like chicken and salad. I might even try to make a bigger version of one of the salads and take it with me for everyone to share. The bit I am worried about is all the snack food that will be there. All the cheese and crackers and chips with dips. Those have always been so tempting for me that it will be a big test to see if I can avoid them. If anyone has any ideas about what I can do that would be good. Maybe I could take along some chopped up veges to have as a snack instead?? Anyway, time to get to dinner on so had better get going.

Day 4 and I am starting to think that I will get through the week . I had to work late tonight and instead of picking up takeaways on the way home for tea or getting home and tearing the cupboards apart to find something to fill my empty stomach, I wasn't that hungry and quite happily had the chicken salad for tea. I am really surprised by how I am feeling satisfied after the meals and am not sitting there thinking about what is in the cupboards to snack on. I'll try to do some Zumba tonight as it is a bit late to go for a walk now. My partner (Shane) was telling me about a story that was on Cambell Live tonight before I got home that he saw. It was about someone who had lost an amazing amount of weight over the past year. Something like he had lost 100KG plus. He now lives a healthy lifestyle and has kept the weight off. Stories like that make me think that if they can do it, so can I. Anyway, time to carry on.

Hello everyone Day 6 for me today. I am still sticking to the eating plan which is going well. I have been doing a few long hours at work though so have not been out for a walk for a few days. I have been doing Zumba when I don't go out, but I would like to get outside for a bit. Hopefully in the weekend I'll be able to get out and walk and ride my bike for a bit. I have been looking through the meals for next week and we went to the supermarket tonight to get some things for it. It is surprising just how little we are buying for the groceries now when we cut out all the junk food! I can't wait to weigh myself on Saturday morning. I'm hoping to loose at least 2KG. However I think that I'll be happy with any amount of weight loss. I have been feeling so much healthier which is great and even if that is all that I get out of this plan, it's good. I suffer from quite bad eczema (have for my entire life) and am hoping that this will help clear that up too...I guess that I'll see if it helps. I think that the yoghurt that I had brought isn't helping with it, so I might try to hunt out a different brand of yoghurt to see if that will help clear it up too. Anyway off to watch a little bit of telly before bed. Keep it up everyone, I have been reading everyone else's diary's to see how everyone does and it's so good to read.

Hey Nicola. How are things going? Can't wait to see how much you've lost...ur doing so well sticking to the diet....ur an inspiration to me. I started the diet yesterday and it backfired big time...blood pressure dropped and I was faint, weak and shakey by end of the day. Trying again today - it's 11:30 now and going well so far.

Hello again. Yesterday was weigh in day for me and I was surprised to see that I weigh 74.4kg which is a loss of 3.6KG in the first week. I am really happy with that, but the best thing that has come out of this for me is that I don't get the hunger pangs that used to rule my life. I would always plan my day around what food I was going to eat and when and where we would eat. Now I can just keep going and food is a second thought to me. I think that is the thing that makes me the happiest.
Well, we had the BBQ last night and I did really well. I managed to avoid the chips, dips, cheeses and everything like that. For dinner I had a lot of salad that had everything in it that I love (lettuce, tomato, red onion and a little bit of feta cheese) and then I had a chicken pattie to have with it. I was so pleased that I didn't stray too far and I know that my body is happy for that also.
newbeginning78, it's good to hear that you are trying again. I'm sure you'll be able to find a happy medium so that you don't feel light headed and weak but you can still carry on with the eating plan. I know that the first 3 days were definitely the hardest for me, so maybe if you can get through them you'll start to feel much better. How did yesterday go for you?
Today Shane (my partner and I) are planning on going for a bike ride which will be something different for us to do for some exercise. I am looking forward to the second week so I'll keep you posted on progress through then.

Congrats on the weightloss - that's excellent. Yesterday went a little better...still had a snack after dinner BUT it was smaller than the day before. Today I've stuck to my menu and it's 5pm, so I think if I can just abstain until bedtime I'll have broken through.

Well, I am almost through the second week (in the 5th day of the second week). I have been so busy with work this week that I haven't been exercising as much as I should. I am a little concerned that will let me down when it comes to my next weigh in on Saturday. But if I have lost some weight then that will be good. The eating plan has been going well. I am quite hungry today though for some reason, but have managed to keep my mind off it. Although I was very tempted to get some takeaways for tea. However I had a smoothie and went for a walk instead. I know that the scales will show a better weight for it. Tomorrow night we are going bowling at our local bowls club. Should be a bit of fun, although I have never played before. Should be good for a laugh. We are going to walk to the club and back so it should be good. Hopefully I'll be able to convince Shane to walk the long way home

You're doing so well Nicola. Your selfcontrol is admirable. Wish I was more like that. Anyhow, I've stuck to the diet almost totally for the last two days (with coffee being the exception though) and I've lost 1.3kgs. Very exciting. Can't wait to see how much you've lost on saturday. Will keep watching. Good luck.

Well it was weigh in day for me. I have to confess that we had fish and chips for tea last night so I was not looking forward to weighing in. Especially because I had not exercised much during the week. So I got on the scales and I weigh 74.4 kg. That is the same as what I was last week. So I am happy that I didn't gain any weight after the bad meal and it has given me the incentive to get back onto it. So today has been a good day for me. We went for walk for 30 minutes and then when I got home after that I did some more exercise with some weights and some ab work outs. I hope to stick to the eating plan for the rest of the week and not come off it again. I woke up this morning with a really sore tummy and am blaming the fish and chips 100% for the bad feeling! It is good because now I don't feel like them again anytime soon. I think that I'll have to tackle the diet a week at a time. I think that when I loose a few more kg's I'll let myself have a 'cheat meal' once a week or fortnight. But I'll have to loose the weight first! A while ago I had a healthy period where I was trying to loose weight through healthy eating (just by myself - no plan) and I managed to get down to 74kg but I seemed to be stuck at that weight and couldn't get past it. So I hope that I'll be able to get past it now. This week is going to be a good test for me. I am going to try to do exercise every day this week - so I hope that work is a bit quieter for me Anyway time to carry on. I have been re-reading people's diary's and it is giving me the incentive to get back on to it again. Thanks to everyone for their support. It does help knowing that other people are going through the same things as me and it does help having people keeping an eye on the progress. It is a good way to keep things in line - no more Fish and Chips for me!!
