hi My Name is Claire, I am a mum of Seven (all grown up now) so I think I can take time for me now. I started this diet today, and so far all going well. Although I did have a cup of tea with milk. I am 108 kilos and only 154cms. Now that is hard to admit to the world as I know I am obese. But I want to do something about it. I have tried weight watchers and other diets but I always gave up. It was either no money to continue or putting the kids first and giving my time up for my family needs. So the gym and the walks and the time for meetings were the last things on my mind. Dont get my wrong my family will always come first. But I feel so bad about the way I look I want to do something about it. I am not a big eater but I alway eat the wrong things all the time and on the run. I have to re train my bad habits and this plan seems to be a best option. I was slim until I had my 5th child and gave up smoking. Then my body changed and the last 22yrs have been a real struggle with my weight. This year I am determined to shake the flab. So here goes I am prepared to give it my best shot.

Hi Claire,
Wow you sound amazing, 7 kids what an acheivement, I only have 2 little darlings 3 and 5 and that keeps me busy enough. You have taken the first step and thats great news, we can all suport each other here on this forum and share out thoughts and struggles.
You have taken the first step and thats the biggest, good news week 1 is the hardest then it gets easier, and the food is reasonably cheap and so easy to prepare not too much time fidling around in the kitchen etc etc.
I wish you all the best luck and hope you will share you journey with us all.
Take care and I think a little milk in your cup of tea will not affect the diet too much.
Best wishes.
Linda :-)

Hi Claire, Welcome, I understand the family thing, putting everyone first is what us mums do. I wish you heaps of success, I'm not going to lie to you, the 1st week is hard, but it DOES get easier. I promise. Good luck and I will be watching for your posts.

well here I am on day 3 and not doing to bad. I went for a walk last night for 30 minutes, I rather enjoyed it. Yesterday was a funny day I have this lovely boss older than I (I am 54) but he likes to share his home made baking his lovely wife makes him. You tell him your on a diet and he still insists it will be ok to eat the goodies. we he bought in some homemade sweetcorn fritters. he heated them up and bought them to my office a plate for me containing 2 and1/2 fritters. He wouldnt take no for an answer. I thanked him and tried to think of away he get out of eating them. I took a small bite from the smallest one and he jumped up out of his seat to go answer his mobile. (Divine intervention I say) I quickly grabbed the remaining firtters and put them into my lunch box. It took alittle while before he returned i thanked him for his gift we chatted for a short time and he left. when I got home last night I sniggered to myself as I removed them from my bag and placed them in the bin. Today he came in with chocolate bars and I flatly refused thanking him for his kind thoughts and explained that was what put my weight on in the first place. I went to the gym this morning and spent 3/4hr there on the treadmill the exercycle and the rowing machine. I was really hungry tonight but hang out as long as possible for my chicken soup. I will keep busy till bedtime. I am sure I will be fine...thank you to the other members for your comments. I am no spring chicken , I am grossly over weight but I think I will hang in there..

well I survived the first week the last day was tuff I felt like some really food, but I got by. I am glad I stuck with it. Day 7 saw me loose 3kgs. Now at day 10 and lost another 1kg. I dont really feel hungry at all.My weight now down to 104kgs. I really have to watch myself as I easily forget the water. So I have a large glass sitting on my desk at work so I make sure I fill it up each time I empty it. Not much exercise in the last 5 days nil in fact. I hurt my back last week so it was really hard to walk. I am better today so went swimming for 40 minutes. I am enjoying the menu this week. However I have chosen to stay on the 80-100kg menu as I felt the 100+ was far to much for me to eat. I feel good. lots of energy.
