Hi everyone,
Well its day 3 and I feel great, had a really bad headache yesterday but okay today, already done 3.5km exercise, walking my girl to swiming lesson and back home again, and son to daycare, so can only get better. Not going to weigh myself until Monday but I do feel lighter already and I am focussed.
Just having the ham wrap for lunch with lettuce out of my garden its yum but I couldn't resist a tiny squirt of the fat free French dressing.....
Been drinking heaps of water but having to run to loo quite a lot.... even during the night so a bit tired from that.
Apart from that all good, I will suceed with this!!!
Good luck everyone!
Linda :-)

Hi girls,
Well a whole week has passed and I feel great, just been to the chemist and got a print out which I am going to keep to track my weight loss and keep me motivated!
I weigh 79.1 today so a loss of 3.1kg and I am rapt, at this rate I will be back to my goal weight of by end of March . Because I didn't completely stick to the week 1 plan I am going to start again with it this week, I hope thats okay. I have also been drinking a cup of herbal tea each day instead of my usual daily fix of about 5 coffee's.
So all of you that started last week, I hope you have all had a good loss and lets keep it going.
I can't find the tape measure so will have to wait for measurements till I find it again.
Best of the luck the week everone :-)

Hi all, Welcome to the newbies, and good luck! Well its day 11 and the diet is certainly starting to work, I can't wait to fit all my old clothes that I love. I have been pretty good, but had to go to Auckland yesterday for farewell dinner for my neice and when I got there saw it was a chinese takeaway dinner,so tried to be good, only ate veg fried rice and some chicken satay vege noodle thingie, but only had one serve and had a pudding plate size, was really proud of myself, and I drank water (not wine :-( boo hoo but I know the results are now definately showing :-) I really hope to be under 70kg by early March and at this rate I'm sure I will get there, just need to find time for a bit more exercise, but once school starts back on Tuesday hopefully I will have a bit more time. And its my birthday on Saturday so I am going to try and be good, but I will be having a glass or 2 or bubbly, maybe a whole bottle if I feel like it........ So stick with the plan ladies and we will get there! Linda :-)

Hope you had a good birthday Linda. I never even thought of cutting down the size of the plate as well as the meal. that will make the chicken salad for tea seem so much more satisfying.

Hi ladies and gents, And welcome to Bronwen and your hubby and Congratulatons on getting past week 1, its hard for the first few days and I know I was easily distracted as I was feeling so hungry and my head was throbbing but now on week 3 as of today and feel quite good. Although have had a 3 day celebration for my birthday that was on Saturday and had a few glasses of bubbles, been out for dinner 2 nights in a row, once with hubby and once with girlfriends, then today went to the fabulous Lost Springs Spa down here in WHitianga and had 2 devine Strawberry Daquiries with a good friend so dreading hoping the on digital scales at the chemist in the morning. But I am feeling really good about myself and sticking with this, its so good to have this forum and keep each other motivated. Once I have been to the chemist and got my accurate little print out I will post my new weight and measurements as I did actually go and buy a new tapemeasure. So hopefully I have lost at least 1kg, espcially with being so naughy over the past few days. But back on track now and no excuses All the best everyone for a good week with positive results :-) Linda P.S. I have done no exercise since Friday, its been raining for most of the past 3 day so a bit disppointed that not been able to get myself out for a walk

Hi all,
Just letting you know I am on day 17 just been to the chemist and have lost a total of 4.7kg which is not as much I wished for but I have been rather naughty with a 3 day birthday celebration and far too much bubbly and food, but all in all thats really good.
Went with my neightbour last night and the dogs for a walk ended up working for an 1 1/2 and got blisters on my toes, got home at 9pm and fell into bed and had a great sleep.
Going to try again tonight but not so long.
Good luck everyone and welcome to all the newbies...... you can all do it, just gets easier and easier.....:-)

HI all,
And a big welcome to the newbies, congratulations to you all for taking the first step.
Today I have been on the plan for 3 weeks, and results are really starting to show.
Jan 18th
Weight 82.2kg
February 8th
Weight 75.9kg
So total loss in 21 days of 6.3kg
I am happy as I have not totally stuck with the plan, had a few treats here and there but everything in moderation. Had 2 glasses wine on Sat night adn 2 glass wine last night.
Also had roast chicken last night, I had no skin with mine, and a salad and did I enjoy it, hell yes!!! When the rest of the family had ice cream for pudding I had a diet yoghurt so reallly just a matter to adjusting food to suit the plan.
I am no longer hungry at all during the day and are drinking over 3 ltrs of water a day.
On the odd occasion when I have been out and felt peckish I had a muslie bar which is called Body Plus by Flemmings there are 2 kinds and they only have 90calories and are full of all the good things, you can get them at the supermarket for about $4 for a box of 6 and and they are quite nice.
This has been so good for me to get me back into the sensible and healthy eating plan, so I am going to continue to update my progress and once I find the tape measure I will put up my latest measurements, so feeling good as I have nearly lost half the weight only 7kg to go.
So keep up the good work people, you will feel so much better about yourself and find that your confidence also improves. Hopefully people will stop asking me soon if I am pregnant again......
And I have exercised almost everyday but its only been a few short fast walks (school run on my way home and there minus kids) and on weekend went for long 1 hour walk with puppy but can't walk too fast as he gets too tired and them I have to carry him.
Just seen in the school newsletter there is a Zumba?? exercise class on Wed at 5.30 its only $5 so will try and get hubbie home earlier so I can go and check it out this week.
Take care all

Hi all, Well nearly 4 weeks into the new eating plan, and I fell off the wagon badly last night had to go to Auckland for work and didn't get finished till 1030pm on the way home was starving, Hubby was driving and I said lets stop at McD's he said nah I'm not hungry (he was being kind), I said please I am starving and I will just have a snack wrap...... yeah right. After 4 weeks of being very very good, I let loose, ordered a fillet of fish and devoured it in seconds..... then hubby who had got a hunger buster pack and was scoffing away into his 2nd burger asked if I would like to share the big mac, hell yeah give it to me baby, but this time I savoured every mouthful and it actually took me about 20 mins to eat half of it. I really enjoyed both the burgers but we still had 2 hours drive home and a lot of it around windy roads so I felt rather sick and when I got home I felt so angry and disgusted with myself. Here I am again, hubby out fishing not back until 7pm, little man having afternoon sleep, daughter 5 playing and I just want to eat and eat and eat... its that time of the month and I don't know what I want but I want to eat I tried to be good ...... so had a smoked chicken salad for lunch at a cafe but was very expensive $18.90 and not that nice compared to the salads I have been making myself at home. I feel ripped off and are craving a prawn cocktail, so think I will get some light mayo and get some frozen prawns from supermaket once little boy wakes up and make myself a little treat, its much better than pizza or fish and chips and I won't put too much of the sauce on..... well I will try not too, lots of lemon juice will go into the seafood sauce (and of course no cream) but who knows in half an hour I will change my mind and want something else, sometimes I really hate PMT days....... Anyway I'm not expecting any weight loss this week but you never know so don't be expecting any glowing reports from me on Monday! I will get black marks I am so bad!!! Am going to fill up my water bottle which is 1.5ltrs and pretend its wine ha ha, good luck all, any tips to get back on track........ I am halfway to my goal and know I can do it but just lost my way. Over and out Linda

BAD BAD BAD BAD ME!!!! What is it with that time of the month, is it just an excuse, who knows....... I have been so good for 4 weeks but these last 3 days have been absolutely shocking.... not only did I have Mcdonalds 2 x burgers on Friday night, on Saturday and rather expensive chicken salad at a cafe for lunch .... then Chicken fried rice for dinner, today its Sunday been to a 6 year old party at lunchtime, was good for an hour then the she devil inside me showed herself and I couldn't help myself for a minute longer so in around 30 mins I ate 5 sausage rolls (big ones), at least 10 cherios, and 5 mince savories, handfuls of kids lollies.... what the hell is wrong with me..... and now its 8pm I cooked roast chicken for the family including grandad, but declined anything apart from some steamed veges but have managed to finish a bottle of wine over the course of 3 hours ..... I am mad as hell! Too late for any kind of exercise now so I think I need to just sulk off to the bedroom and go to bed feeling rather sorry for myself. Thank god hubby decided to not buy me any chocolates for Valentines otherwise I would have scoffed them down too!!!! Any ideas on curbing my out of control scoffing!!!!!! Talk to you all soon, to all the rest of you wsho are doing so well send me a message giving me a kick in the pants!!!! I am absolutely disgusted with myself (for the 3rd day in a row) I kind of feel a bit like a drug addict or alcoholic desperate for a fix of junk food its making me feel yuck!!! H E L P!!!! Get me out of this rut!!!!!!!

Hi Linda, please please please don't be too hard on yourself, and DONT give up. My mother in law has given me this fantastic little book. It's kinda old but there might be a new published one out. It's a calorie counter 'a New Zealand little book'. It's my new bible, has everyfood you could think of in there. absolutely everything. Your Mcdonalds - about 550 calories. not too bad really, could have been way more. ummm..kinda like your kiddie party..lol but that was at lunchtime, (if your going to splurge, make it for lunch). I have just found that looking things up in the book i can see how many calories, what other similar foods could be better, (eg moro 350c vrs crunchie 190c which i had yesterday but bought one and offered half to my daughter, i was really needing something, it was doing my head in.) and if i am after a treat, i can know exactly what it going to cost me and adjust my meal for the day. Also coming up with meal ideas that i thought i wouldn't be able to eat. So look for a book like this, if you can't find one or you want to know the calorie for anything, let me know. I t honestly has everything from huhu grubs to kfc even sauces, dressings and seeds. Your not the only one who feels like that, and i soooo know the guilt or anger..lol but thank-you so much for sharing your story and being so honest, your only human. JUST DONT REPEAT IT AGAIN!!!!......(now you'll have to kick my but when i need it, as I'm sure i will)

Hi all,
I have been good good good!!!! have exercised every day so far just this week (yes I know its only Wednesday) just got back from Zumba class, I enjoyed so much the 2nd time around that I am going again at 0915 in the morning, I am very unco but its lots of laughs and I'm sure it burns up those calories with the cardio. Decided to opt out of going out for dinner tonight, I helped at the school kitchen this morning starting at 0645 as they had a breakfast for the junior school to promote safety on bikes and also healthy eating so I am a little bit tired now. Glad I didn't go out have had my safe food at home and are happy.
Poor little puppy not been out for a walk today so to finish off my night I will take him for a fast walk around the block
Thanks again Ikip for the kick in the pants I needed.
Have a great week everybody :-)

Hi there Linda! Ohh i see you've been getting into Zumba too! I believe it can help you shed loads of weight. I've been doing it for the past 3 days since the beginning of this diet and i've managed to lose 3kgs! I just watch youtube clips of people doin zumba and copy them ^^. It's lots of fun and you work up one hell of a sweat! I think 15 mins of zumba is equal to 30 mins of walking lol. I'll tell you this story about Mc Donalds that will put you off it forever lol. Well it certainly put me off it .... Anyway an old fitness instructor told me they did this experiment, they bought a cheeseburger and let it sit in their office for a year. After a year it hadn't aged very much, yes the bun had disintegrated pretty much, but the meat was still fully intact. They put it in the microwave, and when it came out - It was like you could slap it on some buns and eat it! Ewwww! It has so many preservatives in it, that it could last a year out in the open! Imagine that sitting in the bottom of your stomach! Anyways, glad to hear your back on the band wagon. Stay away from that maccas, its nasty! I know i use to work there when i was a teen haha.
